Dang KY, that sounds worse than my bad day (another story)! I agree with Caligula...if she really wanted the committment, she would have tough'd it through the hard times, it's all part of any relationship. Gots to live and learn! Keep the good past experiences as memories and the bad as lessons. Regret nothing! Actually, look at your position now. You're young, in college, looking an independent life and career in the face. This is a new beginning for you, a prime time to find someone in the same shoes you're in. The parents, yes, another story. I think way too many of us can relate to divorce stories. Now, I don't know what your situation is, but my advice is to work your ass off for it. They're the ones that don't "need space". Family is what made you, so keep it together. It always takes time, and a bit of effort, but it comes together. My parents divorced when I was in 8th grade. The thing that hit me about it was, I was under the impression that all was good and they'd be the happy grandparents in the family. Strange how things turn so quickly sometimes, all falls under that learning business though... but hey, man, you've got this. Your personality and initiative is way too strong to let this eat at you too much. Besides, with a crew like this behind ya, who can fail?
