HM is my job description. Im leaving for basic on April 29th. i made a post before saying i joined and told you all that i was going to post what i was going to do. Im hoping to get a slick job in Asia..hehe. somewhere but we will see. Im going to be in chicago for a year for training so i will prob be able to see jowa and servent for sure. Im a Cali guy so its going to be a huge difference for me. Im used to sunny days and the coldest it gets is like 50 degrees so im expecting a huge difference in weather. Yes its a month and a half away but it goes pretty fast considering life/time. There was some other jobs that they offered me but I decided to go with the best career opportunity. What crazy is they offered me 20 grand just to join the reserves.. heh I thought it over and i decided to go career which in the long run will make me one hella alot more money. Thanks guys MaRiNE |

Good luck Marine! Hope you can get into a game or two in the coming months - DC won't be the same without you! As for weather - Chicago is on the snowy and chilly side so it most certainly will be a shock for "Cali guy" ;-) On the positive side, spring is almost here so it won't be too bad till next winter. I will come up and see you for sure. Chicago is only a 4.5 hour drive from St. Louis. Its also only a 45 minute flight. I look forward to it. Hopefully we wont get into a bar-brawl like the visit to see the K.C. boys. |

ChiTown weather sucks, but you are coming at the right time. Because you are arriving in the Spring, that means you'll only have to put up with one Winter over the 12 months you're here.
